Little Blue Bird - Freebie kit part 1

I hope you are enjoying the Count Down to Christmas at Stuff to Scrap. If you are not following our countdown, you are missing out! Look at my post for Dec. 10th. That is only one of the 24 downloads that you will find this month throughout the designer blogs from Stuff to Scrap. Make sure you go to the blog and check it out!

Now for today's kit... I am releasing a new kit this week! It is called Little Blue Bird. No, this is not a Christmas, or Winter kit... it is just a cute kit for all those cute pictures that you might have stashed away! It is specially a great kit to scrap those baby boy pictures, since the colors are blues, greens and yellows. I had lots of fun making this kit! It includes two alphas, 15 papers and 46 (the preview says 45, I know!) elements for you to enjoy!

I will be posting the kit in phases this week... today the alphas, then the elements and finally the papers... you want to come back for all three files. I will probably taking down the links on Friday night, since on Saturday I am traveling to Florida to join my family for the Holidays. So make sure you snatch all 3 files before they are gone!

I did not have time to share these files with my CT yet... so the LOs will come later. It has been a crazy last couple of months in our household... And I did not want to have the CT rush to get some LOs made... So we will be doing this one backwards!

New Kit Freebie and other releases

Dear readers, I meant to post about my new kit on Friday or Saturday... It is Sunday night, and just now I am having the time to post about this new kit! I am so excited about it!!! I love how it turned out! It can be used as an elegant Holiday kit, or to scrap those heritage pictures. I love the colors... they are so rich! I decided to give the entire kit away this week, since I was late posting... Today you get the alphas, tomorrow the elements and then the papers... By next Sunday, all the links will be disabled!! I have been working on my home remodeling for the past two weeks. I am sorry I have not posted as often... it is taking all my available time! The good news is that tomorrow, the new carpet will be installed! Just in time for Thanksgiving! After that, all we have to do, is move back in, LOL!! So, I am hoping to have better posts in the weeks to come! Nicole has a new kit this week! I should have posted about it on Monday... Today I have to share two new kits. The first one is Autumn Love by Digi-Designs by Nicole. It is such a cute kit. I don't think I would only use in Autumn, LOL!!

Oh Happy Day! Freebie (progressive scrap)

If you are here, chances are you are working towards Stuff to Scrap's challenge of the day for Saturday, November 14th! If you got here by chance, please join us for some fun!!

Today's challenge is a progressive scrap. Kind of like a progressive dinner if you have ever done one of those, where you eat a different course at different peoples house. Well, you are going to pick up parts of this kit called Oh Happy Day at different people's blogs! You must use at least 1 item from each stop in your layout. Girly Girl and a freebie

Well, I am a week late posting this... Originally I wanted to post it on the 6th, but I got the flu and all my plans got changed.

Today I have a very girly kit to show you. The kit is called Girly Girl and is done in pastels and lots of pink. I have a real girly girl at home and thought it would be fun to do a kit to scrap those pictures of her that just call for pink, glitter and sparkles.

Please let me know if you like the kit. I did get disappointed with the lack of comments for last kit... I only had a handful... Another Freebie kit for you! Apple Picking!

Today I am posting the first link for "Apple Picking", my newest kit! This kit was a lot of fun to make! I love the bright colors... It was inspired by pictures that I have from my kids picking apples last year! The bright red and green colors of the apples are everywhere... I just new I needed a special kit to go with the pictures... I had this kit made prior to my surgery, and it was supposed to be released before Owl-O-Ween... but because I had to take some time off, and I had a set date with Kat, I ended up inverting the order for the sets! I hope you like this one... Please let me know if you like the kit by leaving a comment! I read them all... and is what encourages me to give sets for free for a short period of time before putting them up in the store!

I have two awesome kits to show to you today!

The first one, is Spooks and Smiles by Digi Designs by Nicole. It is a super cute Halloween kit... But the colors also work for fall LOs. The LO that I made today is not a Halloween one, but I think the kit worked very well with it! You can find the kit at the STS store.

This next kit is awesome... I almost did not have the chance to work with it, since I was out for so long, but I e-mailed Lori and asked to play with it... it turns out I was still on time... the kit is being released today! Called The Ties that Bind, this is an elegant kit, perfect to scrap those old photos... I just love the colors and the style of it! I managed to get two LOs done with it! It is now available at the STS store!

Breaking the spell with a Freebie!

Dear readers! It's been a month since my last post! Yeah! A full month! For those of you who don't know, I had surgery to remove a tumor in my jaw line (on my parotid? gland...). Long story short, I had facial paralysis as a result of the surgery, and because of my facial paralysis, my eye lid is not closing the way it should... So I was banned from the computers for a while!!

I did get the go ahead to start easing into the computer again... and, because I had this planned and ready before my surgery, I am breaking the "dry spell" with a freebie!

This is a special freebie... it is a collab with another designer from Stuff to Scrap... The Scrappy Kat! Unfortunately, I did not get to play with it or share the kit with my CT. The doctor prohibited me from using the computer and I did not have the time to share the links! So, I do not have any LOs at this time! I will be making a couple of LOs tonight and will add them as soon as they are ready... and hopefully my CT will be able to play with it and turn some awesome LOs for you in the next couple of days, as we release the kit... but if you go to Kat's blog, she has some awesome LOs done with it! I am sure you will love this kit as much as I do!

I hope you all are liking what you have seen of the kits so far. I really enjoyed putting this kit together, and I really like how this is a fall kit, but the colors are not necessarily the traditional ones! Today you get the elements. September 1st is coming soon... That is when my store will be officialy open! First of all, I just wanted to remind you all of my CT call. If you are interested, please apply soon!! But I wanted you all to be excited as I am about my new venture!

This first kit is called Rainbow Sherbert, and was inspired by the pastel colors of this yummy Summer treat!

I am late posting this week... so much going on in the life of the Rainbow Scrapper...

First of all, great news!! I am going to start designing!! You have seen some of my blogtrain posts, but I also have designed some full size kits and now I am ready to start a new phase!

Stuff to Scrap has offered me a spot in the store... so Scrapping Rainbow Designs is taking off!! Thank you for all of you that have followed and supported me in the begining of my journey!

Well, in part, this is why you have not seen that many freebies lately, I have been gearing up for the new store! Also, I was also on vacation this month... Today I have soooo much to tell you! The Stuff to Scrap train has left the station... It is July and "Those Summer Nights" is here... and this kit is really awesome!!! Work-a-long results and CT LOs

Great news! This was my very first challenge ever with a price involved! And I got firs place!! I loved doing the work-along-challenge at simple scrapper! Go to her blog to see the results! Now for the LOs!! These should really have come earlier in the week! But I was tied up all week with end of school year type activities! This is Scrapsn'pieces newest kit called Play Ball.

Week 4 - Work A-long project

I had so much fun doing this work along challenge at simple scrapper! I am said to see that it is coming to an end!! Can we do it again, Jennifer?

Now, how I REALLY felt about the project... Besides loving to participate, I did have some challenges!

I am not a journaler (is that a word?) by nature! So having to journal brought me right out of my comfort zone! I guess that is what challenges are for, right? I had the opportunity to journal in different ways... week one was list format... It got my feet wet, I should say! Week two, was longer, and a reflection of how traveling had influenced my life. I chose to write a letter and I think it came out fantastic!!! Then on week 3, I decided to repeat a couple of words over and over again... as a "mantra" of sorts! That worked well with the learn to relax theme... it reminded me of meditation and calming down!! Finally for week 4, I chose to not journal at all, since the template was extremely busy, and my pictures and title told a story on their own!

I had other challenges to talk about! For an instance, I was always tempted to go to another kit for an extra bow here, or a flower there. It was really tough to have to stick only to that kit for all four projects! Specifically because my kit was very specific (travel) and I had little to no elements to work with that were "traditional" elements, as in bows and flowers, tags, etc! It was awesome to see the results, though, and I was impressed to see how resourceful and/or creative I had to become to accomplish what I wanted with what I had to work with!! Case in point, was this week's template. It had flowers scattered everywhere as elements. I know I could have substituted them with other elements... however, the flowers gave the template some softness... which I was really longing for after working for 4 weeks straight with maps, post cards, suit cases, compasses... you get the point! Then I saw this element which had nothing to do with my LO! An antique boot with flowers cascading from the top! The ONLY flowers in the entire kit! You know what I had to do next... I extracted the flowers and voila! The element I was longing for emerged! Bellow is the element from where I extracted the flowers!

The colors on my kit were hard to work with as well... I love the kit, and will definitively use it again... but after my first LO, which according to Jennifer has an Indiana Jone's feel, I was looking forward to go with a lighter color scheme! Well, that was kind of hard to do with my kit! So, for week 3, I decided to blend my picture to the background so I would be able to "lighten" my pallet, and keep it interesting at the same time! I really liked the results!

Now, regarding the final week, which preview you will find below. I went back to the dark colors!! Yeah! I was ready for it! This LO brings me back full circle in many ways! DARE to travel was my overall theme, and I wanted to talk about the wonders of traveling and letting travel control the traveler instead of it being the other way around! Honoring travel was well... Easy! I loved the jewel colors for this LO because of it! Honoring travel deserved strong, almost royal colors! Explore the world! That was my title... Can you think of any title more honoring travel than that? And then the pictures!! I have so many... but I settled for the three for a couple of reasons! The first one on the left, is of my son! I love to travel with kids because they just do what is on their mind! They are not afraid of trying new things, or looking silly! He is a true world explorer! The second picture was taken in Rome (can you tell?). The Romans were great explorers/conquerors and I love how one of the subjects of the picture is pointing straight out, almost as if he was saying: "Hey, you! Come explore the world with us!". The last picture is... (you guessed it!) of my son again!! He is sitting at the cockpit of an airplane! Exploring his surroundings and ready to conquer the world!

Dream, Adventure, Relax and Explore were my four words! and I used them in the order that they appeared (I am not sure if that was mandatory, but it worked out great!). I loved exploring this subject through scrap booking and I am ready to try it again!

Week 3 May Work-a-log project

As I mentioned before this challenge is being hosted by Simple Scrapper. It had been lots of fun and challenging to use only one kit for all 4 LOs (this week it was LO number 3). The theme that I chose is Travel and the word for this week is Relax. We were asked to journal our hopes and dreams for the future regarding our subject. Of course I want to go to places I have not been to yet, and meet new people, etc. etc. But most of all, what I would like to do, is to learn to relax a little bit more when we travel. I love to travel and I love to see new places... but the problem is, I am always trying to fit too much into my schedule... and most of the times, by the time the trip is over, I am more tired than when I left. LOL. That's why, my word for the week was perfect for this assignment. LEARN TO RELAX is my hope for future endeavours. For the journaling, I chose to write relax, and related terms... almost like a mantra... to see if I can internalize it and make it become real. I hope you like it!

As mentioned before, the kit used is Voyage by Lilian Cimesa aka Malacima. The stitching is from the kit Smile from Digi-Designs by Nicole.

I have been accepted for another CT!!

This has been a wonderful week!! I have been accepted for another CT! I am now a creative team member for Scrap'n Pieces! I am so excited!! This week I was accepted for the only two CTs that I applied for (the only two that I have ever applied). I am excited because both designers have awesome kits. I can't wait to show you some LOs done with my newest CT roll. That will be probably early next week... stay tuned!

In the mean while, I have two LOs for you that I created for a slow scrap challenge at Simplescrapper. We are into week 3 and I can't wait to see the LOs created this week... Here are the ones done for weeks one and two. My subject is TRAVEL. We had to choose 4 words (one for each week) that would reflect/define our subject. My words were: Dream, Adventure, Relax and Explore ( their initials spell DARE). We are only using one kit for this project for all four weeks. Dear readers,

I decided to take the plunge and start blogging!! I was just accepted for Digi-Designs Nicole's CT! I was a little hesitant about starting a new blog, but decided to experiment with it and see how it goes. I will be posting my LOs here. Be on the look out for some freebie QPs from time to time as Nicole releases new kits. I hope you have fun following this blog!
